Medieval tunic and cyclas that I made for my mom.
The cyclas is of some weird upholstery fabric we found at FWS (I think it's only a Buffalo thing; they have all sorts of upholstery & drapery fabrics for cheep, and I always buy tons and tons when I'm there. Gorgeous brocades, tapestries, and weird sheers.) It's entirely hand stitched, since it's from the time before I knew how to use the machine. I can justify the print because it looks as if it was block-printed. (or bleached, in this specific case..)
The tunic underneath is some strange drapery sheer with a really neat nubbby texture and almost no drape. (though it's not stiff, just very light.) It, too, is hand stitched, except for the hem. (I started this the week before I broke down and learned to use the machine.)
The girl wearing it (I really hope she doesn't mind my using her photo!) is holding Damien, my much-beloved ferret, who had to go back to Buffalo when Mike and I moved to San Francisco.
